Hey guys, salut mes amis, och hallå gubbar, Maxim here. Custom fonts in CS:GO are back. But before we begin I need to say 3 important things. I don’t take any responsibility for what you do, you are obviously doing it at your own risk. I’ve never heard of anyone getting VAC banned for changing a font but if it makes you feel more comfortable I’m going to do it myself. And lastly This might not work in the future, but if there’s still a way to do it then I’ll provide more information on it in the video description. Thanks to soundlessxo for finding a way to add custom fonts, if you have any questions you can find him in the video description.
Step 1. Download this zip file from the video description. Inside there’s configuration files and a Runescape font. Step 2. Unzip the file to your desktop. Step 3. Right-click on Global Offensive, Properties, Local Files, Browse Local Files, and go to csgo and finally go inside Panorama. Step 4. Rename the fonts folder to fonts_backup or whatever you want just to take a bacup of the original files. Step 5. Move the fonts folder inside the Panorama folder.
Step 6. If you want to try the Runescape font right away, all you need to do is intall the font, then restart CS:GO. But let’s say you want your own font. So Step 7 is to find a new font. I’m using dafont.com, and for this example I’m going to choose Caviar Dreams. Step 8. Install the font that you have chosen but make sure you remember the title name of the font this right here. Step 9. Go inside your new font folder, open conf.d, and now you’re going to have to replace “Runescape UF” in all the files.
This text right here. You can open them with Notepad, I’m using Notepad++. To make it work for your own font you have to type the font name, remember from before? Now you need to do the same with the rest. This one has lots of code, but remember, you only want to replace “Runescape UF”, nothing else. The last file we need to change is the fonts.conf file, make sure you replace Runescape UF once again and now we’re at Step 10.
After replacing the text, go to row 40. In here you have to put the actual file name of the font, so just copy the filename and put it in. Lastly, go down to row 89 until you find the pixelsize. It’s set to to make the Runescape font look better, but to be sure that your font doesn’t look weird in-game use 1.0. That’s it, you’re done. Now this is how my game looks with Caviar Dreams. I hope this tutorial was helpful. To revert your changes, all you have to do is remove the new fonts folder, and rename your backup to fonts again. That’s it. I’m going to make some more videos like this in the future, so if you like’em make sure you subscribe with notifications on! Also if you have missed it, I have a huge 500k giveaway currently running, so make sure you check out the video description for that. Anyway, that was the video, I’ll see you guys in the next one, and go bananas..
