– [Instructor] Here is another Fortnite for Mac video, this time showing the best in-game settings for different Mac models. You’ll need to know the release date of your Mac in order to follow along. To find out when your Mac was released go to About This Mac. A quick disclaimer, this guide does not apply to Mac Minis, as that Mac model can’t run this game well. Also make sure your Mac is running macOS High Sierra, supports Metal, and was released from 2012 and above. It is impossible to run Fortnite on Macs before 2012, as they don’t support the Metal graphics API. Anyway, let’s get to it. If you’re running Fortnite on a MacBook, a MacBook Air, or a MacBook Pro here are the settings you should be using. First, MacBook models from 2012 to 2015. Make sure Window Mode is set to Fullscreen. Lower the Display Resolution to 1280×720, or if your Mac doesn’t support this, use 1280×800, or 1344×756 or 1600×900. Turn the Frame Rate Limit to Unlimited. Lower the 3D Resolution to around 50 to 70%. Put all Quality Settings to low and off.

Turn off Vsync and Motion Blur and turn on Show FPS. This is useful to see how many frames you’re getting when playing. And last put the Audio Quality to low. Now click Apply. Now for MacBook models from 2016 and up. Make sure Window Mode is set to Fullscreen. Lower the Display Resolution to 1280×720, or if your Mac doesn’t support this use 1280×800, or 1344×756 or 1600×900. Turn the Frame Rate Limit to Unlimited. Lower the 3D Resolution to around 60 to 70%. Put View Distance to medium, Shadows to medium, turn off Anti-Aliasing, put Textures to low, Effects to medium, and Post Processing to low.

Turn off Vsync and leave Motion Blur on. And turn on Show FPS. And last put the Audio Quality to high. Now click Apply. Moving on, here are the best settings for the 21.5-inch iMacs and the 27-inch iMacs. First, iMac models from 2012 to 2014. Put the Window Mode to Fullscreen. Lower the Display Resolution to 1280×720. Turn the Frame Rate Limit to Unlimited. Lower the 3D Resolution to around 60 to 80%. Put all Quality Settings to low and off.

Turn off Vsync and leave Motion Blur on. And turn on Show FPS. And last put the Audio Quality to low. Now click Apply. Now for iMac models from 2015 and up. Put the Window Mode to Fullscreen. Lower the Display Resolution to 1920×1080. Turn the Frame Rate Limit to Unlimited. Lower the 3D Resolution to 80%. Put View Distance to Medium, Shadows to medium, turn off Anti-Aliasing, put Textures to medium, Effects to medium, and Post Processing to low. Turn off Vsync and leave Motion Blur on. And turn on Show FPS. And last put the Audio Quality to high. Now click Apply. If you happen to be rich and own an iMac Pro you can probably put all the Quality settings to high, or possibly epic. Now for all the people who own a 2013 and up Mac Pro.

Put the Window Mode to Fullscreen. Lower your Display Resolution to 1920×1080. Turn the Frame Rate Limit to unlimited. Lower the 3D Resolution to 80%. Put all Quality Settings to medium. Leave on Vsync and Motion Blur. Turn on Show FPS. And last put Audio Quality to high. Now click Apply. And that’s it. I hope this has helped with playing Fortnite on your Mac model. If you’re still having issues I have other videos about increasing FPS in Fortnite which can be found on-screen or in the video description. Anyway, thanks for watching.

Bye-bye..
