Hi, my name is Nander, and I’d like to welcome you to my Hearthstone Guide video. Hearthstone is a turn-based card game that has recently been announced by Blizzard. The game is based around the characters in the Warcraft universe and shows some similarities to the World of Warcraft Trading Card Game. Before we go into the details it might be a good idea to go over the game board so you know what to find there and what to look out for. First of all, you play Hearthstone as a Hero. In this case you are playing as Thrall, the shaman. Your opponent is in this case Ner’zhul, the Warlock. In order to defeat the opponent, you need to use the cards that are in your hand. These cards will be drawn from the deck on the right side of the board. Every turn you build up a Mana Crystal which is your energy source. You can find them at the bottom right of the game board. The main playfield is the place where you summon your minions.

You can defeat these minions by lowering their health to zero. Many minions also have the ability to attack. The power with which they attack is being displayed as the Attack Power on the cards. In order to summon minions, or even use abilities, you will need to spend your Many Crystals. The cost for each of them is being displayed on the cards and on the abilities. Your hero can also equip weapons, which gives them the option to attack as well. These weapons will then show up next to the hero portrait. As this is a turn based game, you do not want the turns to last too long.

If you are running out of time, a fuse will appear in the centre of the game board and will slowly move towards the ”End Turn” button. If you click the button, or if the fuse runs out, your turn will end and your opponent may then take his turn. If you want to see what happened so far in the match, you can look at the left side of the game board. There you will find the match log. Your goal in this game will be to bring the health of the opposing hero to zero. If you want to protect your own hero from being attacked, you can use a minion that has the Taunt ability. This will then show up as a shielded minion and your opponent will then be forced to attack that target before he can attack anything else.

Your hero also has an ability which he can use for the cost of two Mana Crystals. This ability changes based on the hero you are playing. Finally, minions can be buffed and damaged as well. A buffed minion will have green numbers showing as health or attack power (based on what has been increased). A damaged minion will have red numbers showing. I hope this guide has been useful to you.
