Welcome back everyone. This is neonangel, and today we’re going to be facing the final boss in The Curse of Naxxramas, Kel’Thuzad. And this is a two-phase fight. His first special ability is Frost Blast. It’s going to do 3 damage to you every turn. And when he hits phase two, which either he hits when you break his Armor or when he reaches turn 11, is going to be Chains. He takes control of a random minion. His only special cards are Guardian of Icecrown, it’s a 5/5 Taunt. Two of those spawn when he hits phase two. And he also has Mr. Bigglesworth, which you’ll be able to see if you play Animal Companion or Call of the Wild. So let’s go ahead and get started and see how we do today. The point of this deck is going to be to make one of your minions ridiculously large. You’re going to do that with Divine Spirit and Inner Fire, you know, just make it this huge monstrosity and be able to take out anything of his.
And the best minion for that is really Deathlord, because he already has such a high Health. So if you can go ahead and buff him, then it’s a lot easier to go ahead and kill him that way. And this is a really challenging fight here, so don’t feel bad if you don’t beat him the first time around. It may take you several tries. This is a really tricky fight. And it’s one of those where, you know if he hits you with his board clear, umm, you know if he does something like that, then it’s gonna be hard to come back from that. So you may want to restart and try again. And he has just a ton of cards that will freeze your minions, so if you have a high-threat one like my Deathlord right now, he will do everything that he can just every turn to try and freeze it, to keep it from hitting him in the face. Trying to decide here what I want to put the, umm…the Power Word:Shield on. See, he keeps freezing the big minion here. Just over and over and over again, he’ll keep doing that.
Seems as good a time as any to go ahead and just make him huge. See, once again – freezes everything. Now I’m gonna go ahead and bust his Armor here, and when you do that it immediately moves him into phase two – your turn is over, so you want to try and do as much damage as possible before you actually shift into phase two. I’m gonna hit him with something smaller, then hit him with the big minion to just do as much damage as possible.
And ideally, whenever you transition into phase two you really want to have a way to deal with those two Taunts. Uhh, the Mass Dispel is probably the best way to do that. And you also hope that he just doesn’t take control of your huge minion. See, he’s got the Sludge Belcher now, so if I don’t draw a Mass Dispel – hey, there we go. Luckily, I top-decked a Mass Dispel and I’m going to be able to finish him off. If I wouldn’t have drawn that there, that would have gotten a little trickier because I would have had to clear several minions out and there was always the possibility that he would have taken control of my big minion. So if you can’t kill him within a turn or two it’s gonna be real challenging at the end. So I’m gonna go ahead and play through until I’ve won five games here. So we’ll see how that goes. Now if I can keep the Deathlord healed, keep him alive [haha], I’ll see what I can do with him. Now like I said in the last game having the Mass Dispel once you transition is really key to be able to do that.
Hopefully, I make it through this next turn okay. Umm, of course he takes [haha] the biggest minion that I have, but I was still able to get past him. And that happens a lot of times in phase two, he…because even though he randomly will take control of something, if you aren’t careful he takes control of the one thing that is going to be able to kill him. It happens. I’m extremely low here. I don’t think I’m going to be able to pull out of this, unfortunately. I went ahead and transitioned him, and that was probably a bad idea, just because I didn’t really have an effective way to deal with the Guardians of Icecrown.
And I’m just on such low Health. Now I draw the Mass Dispels, but it’s not gonna help me because there’s a good chance he’s going to take control of my big minions here. See..if, if he would have taken control of anything else there I could have killed him, but he took control of the one thing that was going to destroy him. He got lucky. And I’ve got the Mass Dispel ready so if I wanna go ahead and bust the shield it should be okay. And that’s how you kill him [haha]. Just make something HUGE. The Sludge Belchers are really annoying in this, but they’re great at holding you off for a turn or two. And that is going to be another win there.
Win number four. I just need to get one more here. Now him doing the Blizzard right there is pretty bad. Yeah, I thought I had a decent chance there, but uhh, that really messed things up. And I’m able to draw a ton of cards here from that heal. I’m also really low on Health. And that should be game right there or really close to it. And that’s gonna be win number five. I do NOT have to do that anymore [haha]. And I appreciate you sticking around for all of the bosses here for The Curse of Naxxramas. I hope that you enjoyed my videos and I look forward to seeing you in the next Adventure. Thanks again! Bye..
