Hello everyone! My name is Gandalin and welcome to another World of Warcraft guide! Today we have the last video in my series on hidden artifact appearances. Make sure you check out the playlist containing all of my guides! Obtaining any of these appearances will award you with the achievement called Hidden Potential. In this video we’ll be looking at the hidden appearances for priests. Note that you can obtain any of these appearances regardless of your current spec. First up is Discipline. This appearance is called Tomekeeper’s Spire and is unlocked via the Writings of the End. This puts a book on top of Light’s Wrath, which makes sense given how you obtain this appearance. Prior to Patch 7.3, the first step toward getting this appearance was to reach Artifact Knowledge level 4. That’s no longer relevant since Knowledge is global for all players, and we’re well past that level. So now the first step is to speak with Archivist Inkforge in the priest order hall. He’s sitting on a bench just outside the Sanctuary of the Light. You have several response options and must pick certain ones to continue the conversation.

First choose “What did you do?” then pick “What did you write down?” Lastly, click “What did you do then?” If you’ve chosen the correct ones, the last conversation option will let you take a book. This gives you the item called The Annals of Light and Shadow, which starts you on a secret quest to find the other 11 volumes scattered throughout the world.

You must collect all of them within one weekly reset or you’ll lose all your progress and have to start again. I’m gonna list all the book locations in the order that I think is the most efficient. You do not have to obtain them in this specific order. The first book you should pick up is located in Netherlight Temple. Go to the northeast alcove to find it on the table to the left of the artifact history book. The next book is also located in Netherlight Temple. Go to the northwest alcove to find it on the bottom shelf to the left of Meridelle Lightspark. Now take the portal to Dalaran and go to the Violet Citadel. To the left of the entrance is Archivist Elysiana. The next book is on the second shelf of the bookcase to the right of her. Now we venture out into the world. One volume is located inside the Black Rook Hold dungeon on any difficulty. After defeating the first boss, the Amalgam of Souls, you’ll head into The Chamber of War. On the left side of the room, on one of the tables is the book. If you’re waiting on a queue for Black Rook Hold, you can pick up the 3 books that drop from rare mobs on the Broken Isles.

First, grab the book in Stormheim. It drops from Inquisitor Ernstenbok, who is located in a cave to the south of Skold-Ashil. Now head to the small platform at the center of Moon Guard Stronghold in Suramar and kill Artificer Lothaire. You’ll have to kill the construct adds to make him vulnerable to your attacks. The last Broken Isles book is dropped by Chief Bitterbrine in Azsuna. He’s located in a sunken forsaken ship just south of The Ruined Sanctum. Next, fly up to Dalaran and take the central teleporter to the Chamber of the Guardian. Run down the stairs to the portal room and take the portal to Wyrmrest Temple. From there, fly southeast to New Hearthglen in Dragonblight. Go inside the abbey, on the east side of the complex. Turn left, and then slightly right to head into the Library Wing. You’ll find the next volume on top of one of the bookshelves. This book has a 1-hour respawn timer, so just stick around for a bit if you don’t see it right away.

Next you’re headed for the Eastern Kingdoms, so use your Dalaran hearthstone. Alliance players should take the portal Dalaran Crater in the Chamber of The Guardian, and Horde players should take the portal to the Undercity. Whichever one you use, head northeast to Scarlet Monastery in Tirisfal Glades. The next book is located inside the Scarlet Halls dungeon on any difficulty. The dungeon entrance is on the right when you enter the Monastery. Make your way to the end of the dungeon and kill the last boss. You’ll find the book on the left side of the room on a bench between a table and a bookcase. Now run out of Scarlet Halls and fly southeast to Scholomance in Western Plaguelands. The entrance is through the door on the left when you enter the building. The book in here is located in The Reliquary, the room with the first boss, Instructor Chillheart. When you enter the room, kill the mobs to the right.

You’ll find the book on top of the leftmost bookcase along the wall. One more book to go! Your Dalaran hearthstone should be off cooldown by this point, so use it and head down into the Chamber of the Guardian to take the portal to Karazhan. You’ll want to enter the level 70 raid, not the new Return to Karazhan dungeon. Work your way through the raid until you reach The Curator. After killing him you’ll enter the Guardian’s Library. Jump to the right off the platform and go into the alcove. Along the back wall you’ll find three bookcases. The final volume is located on the bottom shelf of the left one. Your Dalaran hearthstone will probably be up again at this point, so use it and head back to your order hall. Talk to Archivist Inkforge again and present him with the 12 volumes. He will award you with the Writings of the End.

Now let’s look at Holy. This appearance is called Crest of the Lightborn and is unlocked via the Staff of the Lightborn. It changes T’uure into a staff with Valkyr inspired wings. The item for this appearance is created by combining two other items. The first is the Rod of the Ascended. This can be purchased from the Valarjar quartermaster, Valdemar Stormseeker, in Stormheim. You need to be Exalted with the Valarjar to buy it and it will cost 1600 gold. To reach Exalted, complete all of the storylines in Stormheim and then do world quests and emissaries for the Valarjar. Also remember that you can get Valarjar rep tokens from class hall missions and the Kirin Tor emissary. And keep an eye out for the Darkmoon Faire and the World Quest Bonus Event, as both can buff your rep gains while they are active.

The second item you need is the Crest of the Lightborn. This drops from Hyrja in the Halls of Valor on any difficulty, including Mythic+. It’s not guaranteed, so it may take multiple runs to obtain it. Once you have both pieces, combine them to create the Staff and use it to unlock the appearance. Finally, we have Shadow. This appearance is called Claw of N’Zoth and is unlocked via the item of the same name. It gives Xal’atath a fleshy, Old God look with a straighter blade than the other appearances for this artifact.

The item for this appearance drops from Il’gynoth in the Emerald Nightmare raid. It is available on all difficulties, but is not guaranteed. You have one chance per difficulty per week to loot it. And those are the hidden appearances for the priests artifacts. Remember that you can get any of the hidden appearances regardless of your current spec. And that’s it for this video!
