Good day, everyone! Today we’ll be learning how to efficiently farm Yellow Scrips with Mining and Botany in Final Fantasy XIV’s newest expansion – Stormblood. Yellow Scrips are a new form of currency unlocked upon reaching Lv. 70 and are currently used for purchasing class-specific Lv. 70 gathering gear. The optimal rotation used for Yellow Scrips includes the usage of Impulsive Appraisal an ability that has a chance to grant the Discerning Eye effect at no extra cost.
The number of effects gained over the rotation will dictate how many items can be collected at the end. And in Stormblood this ability also receives a direct upgrade in the form of Impulsive Appraisal II increasing the effect chance based on your Perception attribute. Due to this, the original Impulsive Appraisal has been made obsolete and will no longer be used from this point onward. Now, let’s have a closer look at the rotation itself. We begin with Discerning Eye into the first Impulsive Appraisal. From here, the rotation changes based on whether you have gained the bonus effect or not. If so, we continue the rotation with Single Mind into the second Impulsive Appraisal.
If not, Discerning Eye will have to be triggered manually. From here, if a new bonus effect occurs we can finish the rotation with Single Mind into Methodical Appraisal. If not, we must once again trigger Discerning Eye manually. In short, for every bonus Discerning Eye effect gained you may use Single Mind for the next appraisal. Of course, for this rotation to work certain attribute requirements must be met in addition to the 600 GP minimum. For basic Lv. 70 nodes players must reach a minimum of 900 Gathering to reveal items in one hit and at least 900 Perception to hit the maximum amount per appraisal. Lv. 70 Folklore, or Legendary Nodes have moderately higher requirements a minimum of 950 Gathering to reveal items in one hit and at least 1000 Perception to hit the maximum amount per appraisal. In addition, you must have obtained the respective Tomes of Folklore before being able to sense any of Stormblood’s legendary nodes.
Now, let’s see what collectables each gatherer may exchange for Yellow Scrips. For Miners, the day begins with Raw Imperial Jade at Yanxia, in slot 6 followed by Raw Rhodonite at the Peaks, in slot 7. If Tomes of Folklore have been obtained two legendary nodes become available Palladium Ore at Yanxia, in slot 6 and Chromite Ore at the Peaks, also in slot 6. For Botanists, the day begins with Othardian Plums at the Azim Steppe, in slot 2 followed by Jhammel Ginger at the Lochs, in slot 3. Similar to Miners, if the respective Tomes of Folklore have been obtained two legendary nodes may be added to the rotation Torreya Logs at the Lochs, in slot 6 and Rhea at the Azim Steppe, in slot 4. Keep in mind that, with the addition of legendary nodes certain items will overlap between the two gatherers making it difficult to collect all of them over one Eorzean day. As mentioned before, be sure to use your favorite tracking website such as Garland Bell to help keep track of unspoiled nodes and be notified when they become available.
Once you’re acquainted with the new rotation and decided which nodes to farm it won’t be long before you have more Yellow Scrips than you know what to do with. .
