Hearthstone Viable Shaman Burst Deck By: Fit-Understanding629

On the road to Legend (playing D5-D3 and ranking up with deck)

This is my first guide, so please forgive in advance if I’m missing key info. I tried looking on vicious syndicate and could not find anything similar.

I was tired of seeing all of the Shaman is bad memes and wanted to try and create a deck that was both fun to play and could take advantage of the meta decks weaknesses.

With this deck your key weakness is if your opponent establishes too much board control. As I find most meta decks are about cheating out high cost cards and are much stronger in rounds 9+ the intent is to setup your burst lethal by this time to avoid them snowballing to victory. For aggro match ups, its about avoiding as much damage as possible to setup your lethal and its an exciting race.

Devolving Missiles: use to break any taunt minions and key threats.

Lightning Bolt: recommend as finisher, but single target removal early game to kill 3/4 health minions with spell dmg active.

Primordial Studies: try to get Imprisoned Phoenix or synergy card to sustain board control early game.

Diligent Notetaker: part of your finisher with Rockbiter/Stormstrike with Doom Hammer or Spells to finish off.

Imprisoned Phoenix: drop 2-3 on one turn to max dmg burst

Instructor Fireheart: board clear/control to setup burst.

Lady Vashj: help draw spells and early board control.

Marshspawn: prioritize Rockbiter/Stormstrike or use as needed to clear board.

Tidal Surge: good against aggro.

Dunk Tank: board clear

Fire Elemental: can be swapped, but wanted body, 4 dmg and another way to corrupt Dunk Tank.

Tips and Exclusions:

Other Shaman spells too slow or too much overload risk.

Other cards that are reasonably good that I tried but ultimately cut: Lightning Bloom, Guidance, Novice Zapper, Chain Lightning, Landslide, Rune Dagger.

You have 3 main ways to win:

  • Doomhammer + Stormspike/Rockbiter paired with Diligent Notetaker and Bolt/Portal (16-22 dmg)

  • Al’Akir + Rockbiter for 12 dmg (on a 1-3 turn aggressive push, going face with Doomhammer + spells each turn)

  • My favourite: Play 2-3 Imprisoned Phoenix at once, then two turns later Diligent Notetaker and Bolt for (14-18 dmg or more, 24-36 with 2 bolts or portal)

Match Ups:**

Rush Warrior: Clear main threats (Kreen, etc.) and control board, get life total to 18-22 for burst by turn 10.

Priest: Sustained pressure with 1-2 minions, keep their board clear of threats like Selk and be greedy with combo to offset healing capability. Win condition is typically double Rockbiter on Doomhammer and Bolt for 19 dmg and 22 with second bolt or Portal.

Warlock: Similar to priest, don’t worry too much about 1/3 minions and may need 1-2 turns to setup lethal from soul fragment healing.

Paladin: Keep coin for yogg, try to kill minions in turns 1-5 to avoid them stacking too much and use missiles wisely (taunt).

Mage: this is a race, keep 1-2 minions on board.

Rogue: this is a race, focus on combo pieces.

Druid: easy win against big Druid, against token prioritize marsh and dunk to keep board clear.

Demon Hunter: OTK and Deathrattle too slow.

Face Hunter: Good match up. Must play as aggressively as possible.

Shaman: Sadly haven’t seen any 🙁

That’s all! Open to feedback and suggestions.
