More Fixes Coming! No Man’s Sky Origins Update Experimental Patch Fixes Electromagnetic Hotspots+

Evening all, back with another update to No Man’s Sky Origins. The current experimental that I covered yesterday has been updated again, so you can expect a fairly huge patch on Monday for the Public Branches. This patch fixes terrain manipulation issues, electro hotspots, games not saving and more, so let’s get into it. <title> First off we have one just for the experimental branch: Experimental only: Fixed an issue that prevented the Terrain Manipulator from mining substances. This was a bug that popped up in the experimental patch covered yesterday that prevented it from getting anything, even Silicate Powder. Experienced this myself and had to switch to Public to continue last nights stream. Talking of, I’ll be streaming the new Permadeath save again Saturday night, so keep an eye out if you’re interesting in seeing how I develop a fresh new save. As for the rest we have: Fixed an issue that caused some electromagnetic power hotspots to supply less power than before.

This had been assumed by the community to maybe be part of the new Diminishing returns that HG have added to hotspots to lessen the ability of MEGA-FARMS, making it so you can’t just cheese your way to max caps so easily, but it turns out that this affecting Electromagnetic hotspots was indeed a bug, so we can all get on with our base buildy business. Fixed an issue that caused warp tunnel audio to continue to play after the warp had finished. This was very annoying and even played on my stream last night even though I had never warped, so I can only assume it affected teleporting to, let’s hope it fixed that also then. Fixed an issue that caused industrial power grid batteries to be used as bait for robotic creatures, instead of ion batteries. Fixed an issue that could cause a softlock when trying to purchase a frigate in specific star systems.

Fixed an issue that caused creatures to spawn in the opposite hemisphere than indicated in the discovery hint. Fixed an issue that caused the portal coordinates for new worlds to be considered invalid. This is a pretty huge issue, essentially making new worlds impossible to portal to, and as this is the experimental, this is still the case for most players, so be aware this is an issue and a fix is on it’s way. Fixed an issue that could cause volcanoes to be placed upon buildings. Fixed an issue that prevented items from unlocking in the Quicksilver shop. Fixed an issue that caused framerate stuttering on PC. Fixed an issue that caused some buildings to move, which could result in missions leading to distant buildings or in bases being buried under the terrain. Fixed an issue that could prevent games from saving correctly. This fix fully restores any affected saves. I’m not sure how long this one has been in effect, but I know a few people it was affecting and driving mad, great that this is fixed, and at least folk know this is a bug and it’ll be fixed soon. That is your lot good people, short and sweet again.
