Hey everyone! My name is Gandalin and welcome to another World of Warcraft guide! Today, I’m going to show you how to unlock Mechagnomes as an Allied Race. Before we start I just want to mention that this video was made during Battle for Azeroth. It’s currently unclear how Allied Races will change with the level squish coming in Shadowlands, so if you’re watching this after that expansion has launched, please check the video description for any updates or changes. Alright, let’s start with some general info. The Mechagnomes are an Allied Race for the Alliance. Available classes include hunter, mage, monk, priest, rogue, warlock, and warrior, as well as death knight with the purchase of the Shadowlands expansion.

Mechagnome hunters start with a Robowolf pet. This race also has unique character customization options, as well as jokes and flirts. And they have their own set of racial traits. Passively, they have a stacking primary stat buff in combat and an emergency heal when they fall below 20% health. They can also pick locks and function as an anvil, cooking fire, mining forge, and every profession tool. They also have an active racial ability that summons duplicates to distract foes. Now let’s talk about how you unlock this Allied Race. There are two criteria you need to complete and they can be completed by characters of either faction, however you’ll need an Alliance toon to actually recruit the Mechagnomes. The first is to complete “The Mechagonian Threat,” which is the achievement awarded for completing the Mechagon storyline. This will take several hours to do and requires you to complete the Operation: Mechagon dungeon, which can be done on heroic or mythic difficulty. To unlock Mechagon you need to be level 120 and go through the quest line to unlock Nazjatar and the Heart Forge.

Players should visit Genn Greymane or Nathanos Blightcaller on their ship to start this quest line. The second criteria is to reach Exalted with the Rustbolt Resistance, which could take several weeks. Your first step should be to get a Rustbolt Resistance Contract. They can be crafted with Inscription or purchased from the Auction House and give you bonus rep when completing any BfA world quests. From there, you should visit Mechagon every day to complete the two world quests and the set of random daily quests that are available. Those will be your major sources of rep, but there are also a few other small ones, most notably that the very first time you defeat any of the rares or pet battles in Mechagon you’ll get rep. I’ve put a link in the description to Wowhead’s Rustbolt Resistance rep guide, which outlines all the possible ways to earn rep for this faction.

Lastly, make sure you also keep an eye out for the Darkmoon Faire and World Quest Bonus Event as both can boost your rep gains. And from April 20th to May 18th, 2020 the Impressive Influence buff doubles the amount of rep you can earn for this faction from all sources. Once you complete those two criteria, go to the Stormwind Embassy and pick up the quest “Urgent Care.” This starts the recruitment quest line. Once you finish that, you’ll be able to create a Mechagnome on your account. You’ll also be awarded with the Mechagon Mechanostrider mount, which can be used by any Alliance character. The last thing I want to mention is the Heritage Armor for this Allied Race. You can unlock it by leveling a Mechagnome up to 110 without using any kind of level boosts, and once you earn it, any Mechagnome on your account can use it. And that’s how to unlock the Mechagnomes! As always, if you enjoyed this video, make sure you give it a thumbs up! Leave a comment down below if you have any questions! And of course, make sure you’re subscribed to my channel!
