Why do this farm?

Turtle Scale is used in 5 different Leatherworking recipes and sells slowly for a very decent price.

You will get Rugged and Thick Leather while farming this, as well. These sell for very good prices and decently fast.

This is a very consistent farm.

Preparation

1. Get classic skinning. You can train this in your faction’s cities.

2. Use a druid or a character with The Sentinel’s Eternal Refuge.

3. Get the appropriate addons to make your life easier. See this guide for reference.

4. Get Darkmoon Firewater for faster skinning.

Yields

This is what I got within 5 hours:

  • Turtle Scale

  • Rugged Leather

  • Thick Leather

  • Thick Hide

  • Turtle Meat

  • Zesty Clam Meat

  • Golden Pearl

  • Other materials

See this sheet for all the items and gold values.

Expected per hour value:

Raw gold: 28g KEKW

Medium sell rate (1 week to 1 month): 28k

Long sell rate (several months up to over a year): 390g LUL

Total: 29k

If you’re unsure how to go about selling transmog, you can follow this guide. By using the strings and operations I provide, you will eventually sell it.

If you think any specific material is inflated in your server, you can apply the same strings as for transmog, from this same guide.

The TSM European average for Turtle Scale and both meats looks quite inflated so I used a much more conservative median value for the price of each.

Getting there:

Dreamwalk -> Duskwood -> Fly over

If you’re not a druid, you’re wrong. Level a druid or use a class trial.

Final words

Check your server’s item values to see if the farm is worth your time. Anything around or above 30k per hour is ideal.

Don’t farm this for 5 hours. I did it to gather data and create the guide. Do it for 1 or 2 hours and move on to the next guide. You’ll end up with too much of Turtle Scale, which takes a long time to sell.

Diversify! Doing multiple guides for a short amount of time is better than doing 1 guide for a long period of time.
